Benevolence

Acts 20:35 (NIV) In the words of the Lord Jesus “It is more blessed to give than to receive”

Members of The Ecumenical Benevolence Committee can attest to that biblical saying. We felt the joy of the formerly homeless Mom with an infant when we presented her with a grant to repair her car so she could get to her job. It was heartwarming to watch the young women of The Refuge Ranch construct a vegetable garden for the Moms and young children of a low income housing complex. We provided Education Grants for the teachers of Dunbar Early Learning Center. Many of these dedicated teachers began as day care workers at Dunbar. It is touching to watch them increase their skills which will greatly enhance the education of their students.

We and all the congregation and community members who support our Grants to the Martin County community feel that we have truly received more than we give..
