For residents and guests who enjoy good reads
The Community Library is a little jewel and is one of the many bonuses of living in our community. It is housed in the Mariner Sands Chapel, located on the southeast corner of the building.
The Mariner Sands Community Library is alphabetically arranged by author, with biographies and autobiographies arranged by subject.
The shelves are stocked with a wide range of fiction and non-fiction, including current best-sellers, all-time favorites, mysteries, thrillers, history, biographies, autobiographies, memoirs, classics and an assortment of large print books. You will also find a variety of children’s books, puzzles, games, audio books and DVDs.
There is a selection of books specific to Florida and Florida authors which have been donated by residents. The Florida materials form a permanent collection and reside in the Library at all times for everyone to enjoy.
Library Hours
The Library is open daily 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
We operate on the honor system; no checkout is required. Please return loaned resources when you are finished so that others may enjoy them too.
Donations
We appreciate your donation of books that you have enjoyed reading. Due to space limitations, the Library only accepts books with copyright no older than 10 years. This keeps our collection fresh and interesting.
The Library is staffed by a committee of dedicated volunteers whose responsibilities include shelving donations and returns and regularly reviewing the collection. When books are culled, they are donated to various worthwhile organizations in Martin County.
Author Talks
The Library sponsors one or two Author Talks each season featuring local authors. Works from past featured authors are on display at the Library.
Shut-In Service
The Mariner Sands Library Committee has a program to deliver books to shut-ins and their caregivers within the community. To learn more, email LibraryFolks@outlook.com.
